October in Chelsea

There are too many shows going on, so I only pick up my favorite artists.
First, This is Arturo Herrera.

I like the smell of flesh. This is Berlinde De Bruyckere.
His gallery: http://www.yvon-lambert.com/main.php?EXPO=newyork

This is Sue Williams. I am crazy for "lines," so I like these paintings.

If you have interest, you can google them or check their galleries.

Chris Johanson in Dietch

Personally I like this gallery.
Secondly, I like this artist. Before I check the show, I didn't know anything about him.

His style is a little "naive," outside the art world.
I like the way he presents his work...very constructive and special...
I feel like I am in a site for religious ceremony. It is a secret religion, maybe illegal.
After they left, viewers enjoy the proof of their existence.

Besides, he has a good sense on color.

Here is the gallery.

Here is more images about his show.

The Secret about NYC space...

My Shit Is Good...

Recently, got some questions from my dear friends and classmates...
Because the deadline for winter NYC space is around the corner.

I am really glad to help them....
but some of you maybe feel embarrassed or plan to apply next next...time.
Anyway, I provide some information for anyone who may be interested in this space.

Here is the application form.

First, I am an international student, so I need to take two courses at least.
One is "Independent Study, " and the other one is "Internship."

Secondly, My proposal is about two pages totally.
You know...English is not my mother language, so I don't want any trouble for myself.
In my proposal, I mentoned my motivator, intention, the basic direction for my creating, how to feed back my classmates (I am doing right now)...

Finally, it is about portifolio. Honestly, I don't think the stuff above are very important.
Actually, your portifolio is the most impoetant thing in the world.
I put 20 digital images of my work, arranged the order of showing, and typed an inventory.

If I didn't remember wrong, I finished these steps at the last moment.
If you want to know more, maybe check with professor Greg or Craig.
They are great.......

Most important of all, don't care about the result too much.
Even you don't get in, it doesn't mean you are bad.
Even you don't get the space, you still can plan your trip or internship in NYC.
Go ahead, folks.
